They are currently seeking a talented Global Commodity Manager with expertise in Stamping and Metal Fabrication to join their dynamic team.


Position Overview:

The Global Commodity Manager – Stamping & Metal Fabrication will be responsible for the strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier management of stamping and metal fabrication processes across the company’s global operations. This role plays a key part in optimizing costs, ensuring supply chain reliability, and driving supplier performance to support our client’s growth objectives.

The ideal candidate will have extensive industry experience, a global outlook, and strong project management skills. They will collaborate closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality stamped and fabricated components that meet the company's exacting standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing:

    • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for stamping and metal fabrication commodities to meet production requirements, reduce costs, and maintain quality.
    • Identify and evaluate new global suppliers, ensuring innovation and competitiveness.
    • Lead negotiations for contracts, including pricing, terms, and long-term agreements with suppliers.
  • Supplier Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers, ensuring reliability, quality, and timely delivery.
    • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Lead supplier development programs to enhance capabilities, improve cost-efficiency, and reduce lead times.
  • Cost & Risk Management:

    • Develop and drive cost-saving initiatives and strategies to reduce commodity costs while maintaining quality standards.
    • Monitor market trends, assess supply chain risks, and implement strategies to ensure supply continuity.
    • Track commodity price trends, such as metal prices, and recommend proactive sourcing solutions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure sourced parts meet technical specifications and quality standards.
    • Support new product development by identifying and securing suppliers for key materials and components.
  • Project Management:

    • Manage complex, large-scale sourcing projects, including supplier transitions and new supplier onboarding.
    • Coordinate global sourcing initiatives and align them with company goals, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of materials.

Qualifications:

  • 7-10+ years of experience in Commodity Management, with specific expertise in Stamping and Metal Fabrication.
  • Proven success in global supplier management, contract negotiations, and cost reduction strategies.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes related to stamping and metal fabrication.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with an ability to lead large-scale global sourcing initiatives.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence suppliers at a global level.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
