Position Overview:
The Strategic Sourcing Manager for Plant Services and Facilities will play a pivotal role in driving the client's strategic initiatives related to procurement and sourcing for plant services and facilities management. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of sourcing strategies, contract negotiation, and supplier management, coupled with a strong background in facilities management and plant operations. The plant services categories include contractors (electrical, mechanical, environmental, HVAC, etc.), civil & construction services, cleaning, waste management, janitorial services, and other services performed in plants by external vendors. This role requires a proactive individual who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to the client's continued growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for plant services and facilities, aligning with the client's business objectives and sustainability goals.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess risks, and leverage opportunities in the procurement of plant services and facilities.
  • Manage the entire procurement process, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance evaluation, ensuring the highest standards of quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, promoting a collaborative environment that drives continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Monitor industry trends and advancements in plant services and facilities management, advising the client on best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, environmental standards, and the client's corporate policies in all sourcing and procurement activities.
  • Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, setting clear objectives and providing guidance to achieve the client's strategic goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, specifically in plant services and facilities management including contractors (electrical, mechanical, environmental, HVAC, etc.), civil & construction services, cleaning, waste management, janitorial services, and other services performed in plants by external vendors
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful sourcing strategies, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, derive insights, and make informed strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as a solid understanding of the legal aspects of procurement and contract management.
  • A commitment to sustainability and an understanding of how procurement practices can support the client's environmental and social objectives.
